RE: Degeneration…mobular horror?

Posted on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Resident Evil: Degneration

After about a dozen attempts at installing it previously, i finally managed to get Resident Evil: Degeneration working on my Nokia N95 through the N-Gage software. Based on the pretty woeful canon CGI flick of the same name i’d never expected much, but i’ve been pleasantly surprised!

Still early in the game so i won’t go on too much about it just yet, but it’s a very good game, with it’s only shortcomings (controls and lack of enemies) being things i can imagine the game’s upcoming iPod Touch/iPhone versions sorting out.

Good game, more thoughts to come soon!

What Resident Evil 5 DLC would you want?

Posted on Friday, April 10, 2009 in Resident Evil 5

Hey Capcom, let me gamble my money on Versus Mode please? Sounds more fun than where my money is currently going! Maybe use that money then on in-game points so i can unlock some more characters to add the much needed balance that’s going to be missing from the new DLC until everyone’s unlocked the top-tier guys!

Oh well, in the meantime, i guess you can never be too careful!

LOLZ

On a more serious note, how about some new Mercenaries maps at some point, Capcom? Picture the marketing! The game’s out, the buzz is starting to die down just a little, and then you release, perhaps, The Raccoon City map pack? Or Rockfort Island? Maybe the Arctic? The Spencer Estate? The possibilities are truly endless!

Or you could offer us a side-story similar to Ada’s Seperate Ways in Resident Evil 4, but i really don’t think you’ll be revisiting the Resident Evil 5 story again anytime soon…just a hunch!

In short, i really hope Versus Mode isn’t the only DLC this game will have to offer us!

If you were given a choice, what other downloadable content would you be hoping to see in the future?

Feel for Nintendo Wii

Posted on Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Feel

The guy’s at Nintendo Everything have posted up scans from the latest Famitsu of a new game on Nintendo Wii called Feel. Check here for the scans, looking very impressive, might fill a gap left by Fatal Frame 4 i guess? Will be watching this one closely!

Not that its even remotely worth getting our hopes up for though, since we probably won’t see outside of Japan!

Fatal Frame 4 not coming outside of Japan?

Posted on Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Fatal Frame 4

Orginally released at the end of July last year, Fatal Frame 4 on Nintendo Wii is still awaiting a release outside of Japan. It was rumoured heavily at one point to be hitting Europe in February of this year, but nothing came of it. Now we have the news that the game isn’t even being released in the US, so perhaps a European release is a long way off yet!

Nintendo holds the publishing rights to ‘Fatal Frame Wii,’ which was developed by Tecmo LTD. and Grasshopper Manufacture and released in Japan on July 31, 2008. Nintendo of America has since then decided not to publish the title in North America – consequently, the title will not be released in this territory. As the owner of the IP, Tecmo feels very unfortunate that the fans of the series in North America will not have a chance to play the game, but respects the final decision made by Nintendo of America.

So, great call Nintendo, really good way to dispell a lot of people’s feeling that you’re nothing more than a bunch of core-gaming dumping pricks!

Silent Hill confirmed for Wii, PS2 and PSP

Posted on Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

So, not content with the Nintendo Wii soon being the definitive console for Resident Evil fans, it really does look like it’s looking to become the definitive console for horror gaming this generation. We’ve already got the existing and upcoming Resi titles on there, Fatal Frame 4 on it’s way (or so we hope, things don’t look good right now!), Dead Space Extraction, Cursed Mountain and…erm…Escape From Bug Island, nd now Konami have stepped up with the often rumoured “reboot” of the original Silent Hill, exclusively for Wii. Resident Evil 5 development team interview

Posted on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in Resident Evil 5

The limited edition guidebook to Resident Evil 5 hosts a decent amount of extras in it’s hard backed casing. Most notable are the  concept arts, but there’s also possibly the most in-depth interview with the game’s development team yet. Hit the jump to read the thoughts of a good selection of the development team. (more…)

A Resident Evil 5 Trailer Retrospective

Posted on Sunday, February 15, 2009 in Resident Evil 5

This past week saw the release of another amazing Resident Evil 5 trailer. To me, Capcom promotional work on RE5 has been incredible from start to finish. Sure, right now it has it’s misses (the Experience Kijuju blog continues to plod along at a boring pace) but the trailers have never failed to deliver. So after watching them all again recently i thought i’d share my thoughts on them as we go along! (more…)

Resident Evil 5 demo thoughts

Posted on Monday, February 2, 2009 in Resident Evil 5

Today saw the PlayStation 3 communities chance to get their hands on the Resident Evil 5 demo that has been in the hands (in some way or another) of X-Box 360 owners for sometime now.

A month or so ago when I gave the trial my first playthrough i’ll admit i’d walked away pretty unimpressed. Couldn’t get to grips with any of the six dozen (slight exaggeration perhaps) control types. None of them felt “comfortable” to me. Right now it’s seemingly the hottest topic across most gaming forums out there, that the controls aren’t right. (more…)
